DEI is about improvement, not perfection. Mistakes will be made along the way and learning from those mistakes will help organizations advance. Improving DEI measurements are challenging but essential for meaningful progress. Evaluating and adjusting DEI strategies ensures leaders match results with real-world and lived experiences of their employees. When tracking progress, consider the following:

  • Set time to discuss your DEI strategy.

  • Establish a dashboard of DEI metrics.

  • Establish clear accountability.

  • Examine how written policies differ from practiced policies.

  • Transparency creates and builds trust.
